In our class we this year we have signed up to the william pike Challenge.
in the william pike you do 20 hours of community service,
20 hours of passion project
and 5 outdoor activities.

Ice Scene used as a Writing Prompt

Ice Scene

I step onto the thick snowy ground. I see tall trees covered in ice, they look like grotesque monsters in the skyline. It's  really chilly.

I run inside to our enormous palace and shake the heavy ice blanket off me. It was nice to be warm inside again.

When I looked around inside it was so big I went up the creaky stairs for a nose and I saw a fire pit. I sat down next to the crackling fire and I slowly started to warm up. It felt much better.

Why everyone should learn how to cook

Why everyone should learn how to cook:

I love cooking because it is enjoyable and it is a lot of fun to make stuff with what you have, and then eat it.

We grow lots of veggies, fruit and herbs in our garden so sometimes I use them for cooking and baking.

At the moment we have tomatoes, pumpkin, and lots of different herbs like thyme, parsley and coriander.

When you make your own food you can choose what you put in it, and you know that it is going to be healthy.

When you cook for and with your family and friends it creates time to spend together.

Cooking activities are a great way to express your creativity. You can create the things that you like to eat. Try new things, experiment with food!

When you cook you use skills like measuring ingredients like cups, Tbsp, tsp and more. It's a great way to use the knowledge that you learn in school.

Cooking can create a culture of giving and receiving kindness to the people around you.
If someone is sick, people will take food to them to help so they don’t have to cook. We can show how much we care about people by cooking for them when they need some help.

My home learning

My home learning 

At home school learning was fun but also it was hard and distracting. Because when you start to work you just want to go and do something else like go and have a break and play on your phone. But you can't. It is also hard to stay focused on what you're doing.

I do like doing school work at home because you get to do stuff like baking for school or other stuff like that so you can use the learning that you used at school like measurements for baking and making stuff.

When I was working I worked for about one to two hours then I get a break for up to 30 minutes. I like making stuff like cookies and cupcakes in my brack. So I am doing school work in my break time.

I am also very happy to come back to school so I can hang out with my friends and see my teachers.
