Jellie parkk trip

On friday our class went to jellie park. We took two buses there. I sat with Clara on the way there and it was really fun in the bus because we were all talking and laughing. Once we arrived we changed into our togs then dove into the pool. I went on the hydroslide with Clara a lot and I also spent a lot of time with Poppy, Kirsen, Sophie, Isla and Clara. I also went on both the high and low diving boards and I did a backflip of the high one which was really awesome! The whole day was so fun and I wish we could go again.

 This was math today we had to tessellation shapes this is what I did and I chosse a triangle so it works 

I am happy with my work today but next time i will try a harder shaps for me to do.

Formal Speach For Leaving The School

this morning for formal we had to video us saying  our speach I was so nervous that i was going to mess up.  I did mess up 2 times so then on the 3 time it was good and then when it was done i saw it. It looked so bad but the teachers are happy so it was good I am going to miss the school when I leave to high school. and i am going to miss my frieands and teachers and the playgrounds i am very sad to leave but happy to meet new friends at high school and stidy for the future I have lots of memories at Rawhiti school. but I cant wait to go to a high school and see my amazing older sister and walk to school with her I am happy to have someone to look up to.

Hi, my name’s Charlotte and my word is thankful

One thing I have really enjoyed at Rāwhiti is the opportunity to help others.  I have had lots of opportunity to help the juniors with reading, athletics, choice and challenge and lots of other things. This year I got the chance to help in the community too, by raising money for the SPCA.  I feel thankful that I have had the opportunity to help others.

I want to keep helping others in the future.

Rotating Sliding and Flipping Shapes

We have been rotating sliding and flipping shapes 

It has been fun to do this and I have been getting better at doing my work and working them out.

Solids in Maths

 Today in maths this is what we made we had to make these shapes out of paper, One is called an octagonal pyramid and the other is a tetragonal star.

These are mine I think I did a good job 

We can determine the solids through the number of faces, edges & vertices.

Defining polygons

 

Today in maths I learnt to define if a shape is a polygon or not.

Polygons have no curves and the sides touch together. They have to be 2D shapes.

A regular polygon has all angles equal and sides equal or its a irregular.

Maths-Lines

This is what we have been doing in maths. We are learning about lines which are horizontal, vertical, parallel, perpendicular which is a right angle(90 degrees) and the lines for 3D shapes at an oblique angle of 45 degrees.

10 ways manners helpa the world ve better

Having good manners can help lots of stuff be better like the world and family and friends and lots more we all have to have manners so we can make the world a better place 

1 ) Why we say hello to someone when you walk by to be nice. In the morning you would say good morning and in the afternoon you would say good afternoon it is nice to talk to people and be nice.

2 ) When i make a mess I should clean up after myself so you don't leave mess for other people to pick up and so my friends family and teacher don’t.

3 ) Why you should sat thank you and please for stuff that people give you because when you say stuff like that it is kind and it helps people say your welcome back to you.

4 ) When you don't shove people out the way it is nice to be respectful to others and people around you. Because when you don't shove people will let you past without shoving so you wont be pushing to telling people to get out of your way

5 ) When you speak kindly and nice to people it will make more people happy so then they will fell happy and speck nicely back to you.

6 ) Bad language is not nice to use because it can really hurt then inside and it is really mean to use at people so we all need to be nice to one another and treat everyone the way you would want tp be treated.

7 ) It is also not good to fight because when you fight you are going to hurt the person that you are fighting with or they are going to hurt you and you will not be happy so we all need to be nice and not fight.

8 ) If someone says something funny to you and you don’t like it you think that it is mean and then everyone else laughs and you don't. Maybe you should laugh and think that it is just funny joke and not take it so serious.

9 ) Give people complements to dee how they react and see if they will give yo a complacent back and say something to them and see.

10 ) When you are meant to be somewhere and your late maybe you can do something to help yourself be ther on time and not ley other people down you could get an alarm to get stuff ready the night before or do something like that to help and not let other people wait for you

New tech groups

Today at tech we changed groups I was in Cooking and Mechatronics before and it was really fun but now we do sewing and electronics they are also fun.

Today in lectronics we started making our base for our light. I am making a purple light. It is going well so far and I have finished my base so next week I can do the stand for it I dont know what stand I am going to do for itbut I will choose next week. It might be wood for a plastic lid I think that I might do the lid because it will be nice and it will match the light.

Also today in sewing we are making a face mask they are going well I am making a black one with a photo on it but I dont know what kind of photo yet so I will think for next week we are also going to be making a bag. For the bag we are going to have a lttle contest to see who can make the best bag.

I like the groups that I am in so it will be fun

Todays blog (fun day)

                                     

Today at school some people from my class went skiing but some didnt go the people that didnt go got to have a fun day at school so what we did first was sience we did that for a while but it was fun after that we went outside for a run and when we came back in we were getting ready to do saome kahoots and some qwizlets it was really fun.

We have also went out and had a run around and go play with balls outside and kick them around it was fun lots of the boys were playing rugby and others will talk I was just talking and sitting around with me friends it was nice.

Math (finding V and A)

Today I math we did a test of finding the Area and the Volume I got two wrong it was kinda hard but then at the end I got it 

I try and try but I cant get it right I keep trying I am a lot better now and cant wait to do more I am getting the hung of most of them but lots need more and more practice

I am getting better at my math but still need lots of practice I love trying to work out some problems but some I don't like

Maths ( how to find the area of a circle)

π=3.14

Area = π x r x r

3.14 x 2m x 2m =12.56 sq m

That is the answer

it was kinda fun but also a bit easy I got most of the answers right 

MATHS (Wednesday)

Today in maths I completed work on finding the area of shapes it was a bit hard but I got it.
I got some wrong but I had help from Mailli she thought it was hard to but we got it in the end

Formula used to calculate area, volume, circumference and area of a circle

Area = l x w
Volume =  l x w x h
Circumference = π x Diameter (π= 3.142)

Area of Circle = π x r x r(radius)

Maths today

Today in maths we did finding the area and volume in shapes and we went outside to go and see how many foot steps can fit in a line on the netball court mine was 15.5 foot steps

This is my work we did the volume of a cube and this is me working it out I had no idea what I was doing it was kinda hard for me but I tried and I have kinda got it now but I will keep trying and I will get it so I can do it of be heart

Adrenalin forest (first time)

Yesterday we went to Adrenalin forest
It was so much fun it was my first time going I was a bit scared at the start be then after one level I wanted to keep doing it I did level 1 first because I didn't trust myself and it was my first time there and then I did level 2 and 3b 3b was one of my favourites because it had the most hard stuff to do in the levels that I did
After I finished level 3b there wasn't enough time to do any other levels which was sad but I had a fun time so it was good                                                     

I was very happy to go
And thank you to the teachers that took us there

For day 3 on my logo it is done but now I have to make a slideshow or a presentation to show an add for my logo and i'm going to do an I movie maybe  it is coming out soon so keep coming to see what it will look like

Today is the day that I finished my logo and yes it was the day I have finished my logo it was hard but I did it and it looks pretty good I am really happy with it and I think that it turned out good

Today for literacy we had to make a logo for pretending to make a logo for work not a real logo just for fun.

 I tried to do my name but it didn't work well so i'm going to try make another one tomorrow we made them on the iPad but it wasn't good none of my ideas worked but I tried so that counts
I am going to keep trying and finish it tomorrow

Today we had to make a photosynthesis and

I did a sunflower because I like how they 

look and they are pretty easy to draw 

and I like how I did it and the finish look

How to make a paper plane

We are writing instructions for "How to's". I had to make the instructions short so other kids can understand them easily. 

It was really fun to make and why I did a paper plane is because it is easy to make. I cut and paste stuff in because I'm not a good drawer.

How to make a paper plane 

Step one  Fold the paper in half.
Step two Unfold it and fold the corners like this towards the middle.
Step three  When folded it would look like this.
Step four  Fold the sides in
Step five  It would look like this.
Step six Fold in the middle like this
Step seven The finish product should look like this.

Yoga pose

This is a move that we did for some yoga poses it was really fun but it was a little bit hard 

We had to do a lot of try's to get it right but then we got it in the end after all the try's it finely paid off then 

we got it.

For my Community service I have done 39% that is about 7 and a half hours of work.

I am going to do a clean up around our school to finish it off.


For my Outdoor activity's I have done 60% that is 3 activity's.

so I can finish it off I will do skiing


And for my passion project I have done 11%

Tech

Today at tech we finished off our bags we had fun our teacher was away but we still had other teacher she was a bit mad today.
I am happy with my bag and my bag I am doing SAVE THE ANIMALS i have almost finished the first part.


In food we made a calzone it was really yummy I had lots of fun making it.

Going to the SPCA

Today we went to the SPCA to drop off the fundraising stuff Isla and poppy came with us they had toys that they droped off to.

we had so much fun we got to go around and look at some of the animals we looked at 2 cats and 6 bunnies they were all so cute

Dear Lila

Dear Lila this is what a have learnt about Matariki 

What I have learnt about Matariki is that Matariki is a small cluster of seven stars in the sky which is known as the seven sisters .


There is nine stars in the cluster. Each star represents a special meaning.
Matariki represents to remember the ones who that passed away..
They is way more that represent's something special.

literacy

In literacy we are doing matariki for matatriki we are finding what all of the 9 stars stand for and we are doing worksheets to see how much we know


we are also doing Maramataka and what it is this is what it is Nights in the Maramataka | the Māori lunar month. The Māori lunar calendar is called the Maramataka, which literally means the turning of the moon. It marks the phases of the moon in a lunar month. 

It is a bit confusing for me to learn this stuff.

Maths

In maths we have been doing fractions for the fractions we are finding the same denominators for both fractions. It was hard at first but now I'm starting to get it. I am liking maths at the moment it is fun I like how we are getting ready for high school I can't wait to go to high school it going to be fun but weird to. 

Tech

Sewing 

Today at tech we did sewing it as really fun we are making a bag I am putting animals on my bag to
save the animals. I am really happy with my work.

Cooking

My next class is cooking we made a salad in a jar we had lots in it like pasta, tomato, carrot and more it was really yummy.

william pike challange

For my WPC I am doing community service I am doing a mufti day we are going to fundrasie for the SPCA for all the animals that have been thorght a lot.


I am also trying to learn some french for my passion project

For my WPC me and Lila are going to be doing a mufti day for our school to fundraise for the SPCA to help the animals in need. And we are also doing a beach clean up so we will get a group and go down to the beach and get a bag and pick up rubbish along the sand. we atre doing it for our community service.

Netball

Netball

In netball today we did some warmups it was really cold so the warmups help a lot. After we were warm we started play a game. We played 2 games I was Goal shoot again and I scored one goal again. It was really fun. At the end of the games it was a tie we both scored one goal each it was a good game I really enjoyed it I will do it agian other-time.

William pike Challenge

In our class we this year we have signed up to the william pike Challenge.
in the william pike you do 20 hours of community service,
20 hours of passion project
and 5 outdoor activities.

Ice Scene used as a Writing Prompt

Ice Scene

I step onto the thick snowy ground. I see tall trees covered in ice, they look like grotesque monsters in the skyline. It's  really chilly.

I run inside to our enormous palace and shake the heavy ice blanket off me. It was nice to be warm inside again.

When I looked around inside it was so big I went up the creaky stairs for a nose and I saw a fire pit. I sat down next to the crackling fire and I slowly started to warm up. It felt much better.
